Natural / Artificial Diamond Impregnated Pads Reaming shells with DCDMA Standard Thread
Reaming shells are manufactured to withstand difficult drilling conditions and provide long life. Surface set reaming shells in all common DCDMA sizes are a stock item. Impregnated reaming shells and reaming shells in full hole profile are also available, but may require longer lead times
Reaming shells (with double pads or three pads) are suitable to use in all formation conditions ranging from broken and abrasive to consolidated and non-abrasive. As this kind of reaming shell is physically longer than the standard type, it is necessary to use an appropriate inner tube extension in order to compensate for the difference in overall reaming shell length.
Ensure a 360-degree holes wall contact, which maximizes shell stability. Longer life is therefore achieved due to the smoothness of the drilling and the hold gauge maintained. The diamond pads are reinforced with tungsten carbide inserts on the leading edge, which reduces the erosion of matrix around the diamonds by forcing the abrasive cuttings up the waterways and not allowing it to travel across the face of the diamond pad.
